He Wrote It First — Lyrics

Verse 1

From seashells high on Everest, to flesh in dinosaur bone, Still people tell their empty lies, to hide the sin they bear alone. In the cell and in the sky, there's order built to shine, Why not come home to forgiveness, and leave behind your crime? He formed them male and female, A purposeful design, With strands of DNA in such detail, Uniquely yours and mine. Like John who leaped inside the womb, Before he saw the light, Human life is not our toy, But precious in His sight.

Pre-Chorus

And when we bend the truth We bend our hearts away But every tiny part of life Still points to God today

Chorus

He wrote it first He wrote it first Creation speaks His Word He wrote it first He wrote it first And we are not our own

Bridge

He stretches out the northern skies, Across the empty space, He hangs the earth on nothingness, Yet holds it all in place!

Verse 3

Many saw the risen Jesus, Bearing witness through the pain. They would never trade the Gospel, For a worldly crown or gain. For He heals the broken-hearted, He still opens blinded eyes, He still walks into our sorrow, And He makes the dead things rise! JESUS IS LORD! HE IS ALIVE!

Final Chorus

He wrote it first He wrote it first So every knee will bow He wrote it first He wrote it first And He is with us now

Bible verse · Little lesson

A verse to hide in your heart

“Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.”
— Hebrews 11:3 (KJV)

Little lesson for little hearts

Before stars sparkled or oceans rolled, God spoke and they were. Every flower, every storm, every galaxy — He wrote them in His Word first. The same God who spoke the worlds into being also wrote His promise of rescue through Jesus, who is Himself the living Word.
