Lantern in the Glen

A warm storybook lullaby about walking in the fear of the Lord. Molly listens by Granny's chair while Patty shares his bread at the market — fear the Lord, like a child holds light.

Lantern in the Glen — Lyrics

Verse 1 — Molly

When the rain taps low on the cottage stone, Molly folds her hands and sits with the dawn. She hears old words from her granny’s chair — “Mind your heart, my child, He is always there. Not to fight in the dark, not to ghost in the lane, Just a holy stillness calling your name.”

Verse 2 — Patty

At the market square by the river bend, Patty shares his bread with a hungry friend. He lowers his eyes as a quiet prayer — “Lord, keep my hands good and true and fair. Not a crack of the branch, not a bite of the wind, Just the voice of heaven, soft as a hymn.”

Chorus

Fear the Lord, fear the Lord, Like a child holds light. Fear the Lord, fear the Lord, And walk in what is right. Big and kind, big and kind. Fear the Lord, fear the Lord, and He’ll guard your day. Fear the Lord, fear the Lord, and lead your feet the way.

Bridge

When you lose your way and your courage shakes, He is near the small and He knows your name. So take up the light in your little hand, Love Him with a glad heart, And you will stand.

Bible verse · Little lesson

A verse to hide in your heart

“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”
— Psalm 119:105 (KJV)

Little lesson for little hearts

When the world feels dark, God's Word is a lamp for our feet. The Bible lights up the very next step we need to take. Jesus is the Light of the world, and His Word never runs out of brightness — read it, hide it in your heart, and walk by its glow.
