The Tomb Is Empty

A joyful, shout-it-out resurrection singalong for the whole family — the stone is rolled away, the tomb is empty, and Jesus is alive today. It walks with the women to the garden on that first Easter morning to hear the angel say "He is risen — just like He said!", and then stands with the disciples as the risen Lord shows His hands and His feet: "Touch and see — it's really Me!" The song teaches children that Easter is history and not a story: Jesus really died for our sins, really rose again in a real body on the third day, and is alive forevermore. It ends the way the first Easter ended — with everybody running to tell the good news: He is risen — risen indeed!

Bible verse · Little lesson

A verse to hide in your heart

“He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.”
— Matthew 28:6 (KJV)

Little lesson for little hearts

The first Easter morning was not a story someone made up — it happened. Jesus Christ "died for our sins according to the scriptures," was buried, and "rose again the third day according to the scriptures" (1 Corinthians 15:3–4). When the women came to the garden while it was still early, the stone was already rolled away, and the angel told them, "He is not here: for he is risen, as he said" (Matthew 28:6). Death could not hold Him; the grave could not keep Him. Later, so that no one could say they had only seen a ghost, the risen Lord showed them His hands and His feet and said, "handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have" (Luke 24:39). He rose in a real body, and He is alive right now: "I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore" (Revelation 1:18). And because He lives, there is a promise for you: "if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved" (Romans 10:9). So the women ran from the empty tomb, and we run too: go and tell — He is risen, risen indeed!
