Never Be Shaken
A joyful, hope-filled song for older kids and preteens, written by Amanda Vaday, straight from Peter's words in Acts 2:25–28 (quoting Psalm 16). Because the Lord is always at our right hand, we will never be shaken — even through the dark, our hearts can be glad and our hope stays alive. It points to the empty tomb: God did not abandon His Holy One to the grave, and He has made known to us the paths of life and fullness of joy in His presence.

Bible verse · Little lesson
A verse to hide in your heart
“For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved… Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.”
Little lesson for little hearts
When the very first church was born, Peter stood up and preached, and he reached all the way back to a song King David had written long before — Psalm 16. Peter said David was really singing about Jesus: "I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved" (Acts 2:25). To say the Lord is "at my right hand" is a picture of a strong helper standing right beside you, so close that you do not have to be afraid. That is why we can say with David, "I will never be shaken." It does not mean nothing hard will ever happen — even this song passes through a shadow. It means that when hard things come, the Lord is still right there, and our hope does not fall apart. And here is the most wonderful part: Peter said this song pointed to the resurrection. God "would not abandon his soul to the grave, nor let his Holy One see decay" — the tomb could not keep Jesus! He is alive. Because Jesus rose, He has "made known to us the paths of life," and He fills us "with joy in His presence" (Acts 2:28). So we can have a glad heart even in the dark, knowing the risen Lord stands beside everyone who trusts Him — and nothing can ever shake us out of His hand (John 10:28).
